Veneers
What Are Veneers?
Veneers are wafer-thin, custom-made shells that are bonded to the front of your teeth. Teeth that are discolored, chipped, broken, worn down, irregularly shaped, misaligned, rotated, or spaced can be transformed with veneers. We can use veneers to restore your natural-looking smile, or we can use them to brighten and enhance your smile! The choice is yours!
What Are Veneers Made of?
The 2 main types of veneers are porcelain veneers and composite resin veneers.
Porcelain veneers provide strength and resilience comparable to natural tooth enamel. They are stronger than composite veneers, and do not change colour or stain. Generally, porcelain veneers requires at least 2 dental visits.
Composite resin veneers, also known as "bonded veneers" or simply "bondings", can be done in 1 single visit. However, they are more susceptible to chipping and staining, thus will require replacement more often than porcelain veneers.
Care For your Veneers
Just brush and floss the same way as your other teeth.
Keep in mind that veneers will need to be replaced at some point, no matter how well you take care of them. But proper oral hygiene will help them last as long as possible.
